Rutledge Lake Lodge offers a unique opportunity to fishing enthusiasts who desire an exclusive fishing vacation destination that only a fly-in lodge can provide.  The Lodge hosts a limited number of guests enjoying exclusive use of the Lodge and amenities.

The Lodge is located in the Precambrian Shield 130 miles southeast of Yellowknife NT on Rutledge Lake.  In 1977 a lease was secured by Bob McMeekin and Rutledge Lake Lodge was constructed on the west shore of Rutledge Lake showcasing a picturesque view of the lake and surroundings.  The Lodge has hosted numerous fishing enthusiasts over the years with many returning year after year to fish their favorite spots and to discover new!

Rutledge Lake is approximately 150 – 170 square miles with countless islands, bays, rocky reefs and drop-offs providing guests with ideal lake trout and northern pike fishing.   Its safe to say many of these “secret holes” have yet to see a lure!

The Lodge is accessible by float plane only and provides some amazing aerial views on the flight to and from the lodge.  When travelling from Yellowknife, the flight follows the shores of Great Slave Lake and the size and beauty of Great Slave becomes evident, truly a remarkable sight!

Getting Here

Rutledge Lake Lodge is located approximately 130 miles south east of Yellowknife NT and is accessible  by float plane only.  A number of carriers provide daily jet service to Yellowknife from Edmonton including Westjet, Air Canada, and Canadian North.  By car, Yellowknife is 1503 kilometers from Edmonton or approximately 15 – 16 hours driving.

CONNECTING TO RUTLEDGE LAKE LODGE

When booking your flights in/out of Yellowknife, ensure your arrival is prior to 10:00am on your day of departure to the Lodge as flights to the Lodge depart the charter’s base at 10:45am. Flights from the Lodge depart @ 1:00pm and will have you back in Yellowknife by 2:30pm. Please note flight times to and from the Lodge are contingent on weather conditions and or other factors that may cause delays beyond our control. We recommend booking departure from Yellowknife home no earlier than 5:00pm.

After arriving in Yellowknife, a 15 minute cab ride will have you at the charter’s base and then on to the lodge. Any last minute items you may need for your trip can be easily purchased with one or two stops on the way to the charter’s base.

The 1 hour and 30 minute flight from Yellowknife to the Lodge provides some truly spectacular views of Great Slave Lake and the endless pristine wilderness that is “The Northwest Territories”!!

Simplicity is the beauty of a fly-in fishing dream vacation to Rutledge Lake Lodge. You are on your own schedule, free to spend your time however you please. Battle trophy Lakers and Northern Pike from dusk to dawn or just kickback and enjoy the untouched pristine beauty of Rutledge Lake.

Rutledge Lake Lodge is a self-catering camp with guests providing for themselves. The Lodge can accommodate four to six guests per cabin, guests can expect to enjoy exclusive use of the Lodge and amenities.

Cabins include propane stove and fridge, propane BBQ, cooking utensils including dinnerware  and wood burning stove. A propane freezer is on site.

Reducing our carbon footprint is important to Rutledge Lake Lodge. A solar powered water system adequately handles the Lodge’s water need, supplying hot and cold running water to the cabins and shower room.

150 watt solar panels with inverter provides enough power to operate small appliances, power tools and bright lighting throughout the cabins.

Booking / Rates

AVAILABILITY / QUOTES

Availability and rates are subject to change any time and without notice.  We recommend booking early to secure the best dates and rates.
Rutledge Lake Lodge will honor pricing and hold dates provided in a written quote for up to fourteen days from the invoice date. Dates and rates in written quotes expire fourteen days from the invoice date unless secured by deposit.

DEPOSIT

To hold your desired dates, contact Rutledge Lake Lodge by email tom@rutledgelakelodge.com and request a written quote.
A 50% deposit per person is required at the time of booking to secure all reservations with the balance due 45 days prior to arrival date at the Lodge.
Dates not under deposit or contract may be sold to other guests without notice. Reservations that do not fulfill the deposit and payment requirements above may be subject to cancellation.

WAIVER

All guests must sign a liability waiver at time of booking to ensure confirmation of your booking.

  • Fishing License, rod and tackle. 
  • warm clothes, personal toiletry’s, rain gear
  • sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellent
  • groceries / liquor (R.L.Lodge can help make arrangements)

WE RECOMMEND

  • GPS to navigate the many bays, arms and islands and a portable fish finder to guide you in the pursuit of a trophy catch.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We understand that at times unexpected circumstances can get in the way of your fly-in sport-fishing adventure!  We recommend purchasing travel/trip insurance.

Rutledge Lake Lodge is not responsible for loss of fishing time, lodging, food, transportation, baggage, or tackle; flight delays; or other incidents resulting from inclement weather or other conditions beyond our reasonable control.  The following policy applies to all cancellations:

  • Cancellations made fewer than 90 days prior to arrival will be assessed a minimum fee of $200 per person.
  • Cancellations made fewer than 60 days prior to arrival will be assessed a minimum fee of $500 per person.
  • There will be no refunds on deposits with cancellations less than 30 days from arrival date.

Because of the uniqueness of our business, there are no exceptions to this cancellation policy.
